Thursday 20 March 2008

Location: Ledbury, Herefordshire
Participant Standard: Intermediate
Tutor(s): Johnny Birks MIEEM

The pine marten was added to the UK BAP priority list in 2007, so there should be increased conservation action on this enchanting mammal. Though mainly recovering in Scotland and Ireland, elusive relict populations survive in parts of England and Wales. The workshop will cover distribution and status; identification and field signs; basic ecology, behaviour and habitat requirements; survey methods; mitigation; and resolving conflicts with human activities.
