Assessing the impacts of a development on a habitat or species can be difficult. Therefore, objectively evaluating different kinds of habitats and species, weighing up different types of impacts upon them, and then bringing this all together to produce a meaningful overview is more than difficult! This workshop will discuss best practice approaches in nature conservation evaluation and Ecological Impact Assessment, including the IEEM guidelines, using case study examples from real projects. The importance of drawing priorities for mitigation and compensation will also be discussed. This workshop is aimed at participants actively involved in EcIA and the preparation of Environmental Statements, and it is hoped that they will contribute their own ideas and experiences.
Cost: £60 (or €90) IEEM members, £120 (or €180) non-members.
