Great Crested Newts – An Introduction to Pond Surveys

This workshop will cover amphibian identification; ecology and habitat requirements; pond survey techniques; interpretation of results; health and safety for surveyors and amphibians; and legislation and licensing. The day will include a visit to ponds on Sutton Courtenay Nature Reserve for a practical demonstration of selected survey techniques. Optional night-time and morning visits to the ponds are also offered to conduct an amphibian survey, including torch survey, netting and setting and retrieving bottle traps.

Cost: £60 IEEM members, £120 non-members.
