The workshop is aimed at beginners providing participants with background information and advice on undertaking bat surveys. The workshop will include bat ecology, relevant legislation and survey methodology. Additionally, the workshop also comprises bat sound analysis and mitigation design, using case studies.
IEEM Members £80 (£70 if booked before 9 January 2010).

The workshop will focus on current knowledge and best practice. It will cover:
- an introduction to bat ecology;
- legislation and policy relating to bats;
- techniques and equipment in bat surveys;
- assessing the need for a bat survey;
- bat sound analysis;
- mitigation design and enhancement opportunities; and
- licence applications (for development).

People looking to undertake and interpret bat surveys for development but also those who want to update their skills and/or want an overview on bat mitigation: consultants, planners and statutory organisations.
