This workshop will demonstrate a systematic approach to first aid, incident management and dealing with incidents safely. The workshop includes treatment for collapse, external/internal bleeding, shock, resuscitation, hypothermia/hyperthermia, head injury, plus incident management scenarios. Working out in the field or in the office, we all need first aid skills to deal with injury or illness be it to colleagues, clients or ourselves. This is a bespoke workshop for field workers. Participants gain a certificate, valid for three years from a HSE register first aid training provider.

Nationally recognised Outdoor Emergency First Aid and Incident Management courses focus on wilderness first aid and remote first aid training techniques.


This is a 16 hour workshop approved by Qualification and Curriculum Authority (QCA). The Outdoor First Aid course is benchmarked against current National Occupational Standards, is well resourced, tailored to your specific needs, uses modern training methods and is delivered by approved trainers.

The workshop covers:

  • Dealing with incidents safely.
  • A systematic approach to incident management.
  • Collapse. Causes and treatment.
  • Accident procedure.
  • Bleeding.
  • External and internal bleeding.
  • Shock.
  • Resuscitation procedures.
  • Choking.
  • Treatment of sprain and strains.
  • Minor Fractures.
  • Minor injury.
  • Medical emergencies.
  • Bites and Stings.
  • Hypothermia/hyperthermia.
  • Incident management scenarios.
  • Remote improvised technique.
  • What do I do if I am remote?
     

At the end of the workshop participants will receive a recognised certificate valid for three years.

Who should attend this workshop?

Environmental consultants, sole workers, guided walk leaders, countryside rangers, tree surgeons and conservation volunteers would all benefit from this course as specific outdoor incident scenarios are used during the workshop. This workshop is already run for Forestry Enterprise, many Wildlife Trusts, National Trust and Local Authority Countryside Services.

  Many consultancies need staff to have approved first aid training when tendering for contracts.
