Dormouse Ecology and Survey

An introduction to dormouse ecology and survey. This workshop will cover the ecology of dormice; protective legislation pertaining to dormice; how to plan and conduct the survey; mapping techniques; how to define habitat types; how to recognise which have the potential to support dormice; field signs; handling; sexing; what to do with the results; and how to write a report. Mitigation will not be covered in any detail.
IEEM Members: £80 (£70 if booked before 16 February 2010).

Who should attend this workshop?
This course is intended for consultant ecologists, local authority ecologists, park wardens, reserve rangers, and land managers.

- Waterproof outdoor clothing.

- Stout boots.

- Gloves are recommended.
